Brodie Welch is a Full Professor for AcuPractice™ Seminars, a Licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist, and Oriental Medicine educator with a thriving private practice in Corvallis, Oregon.
Brodie earned her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine degree at Southwest Acupuncture College in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2003, where she was recognized for her potential as an outstanding practitioner. She is a Nationally Certified Diplomate in Oriental Medicine, Chinese Herbs, and Acupuncture (NCCAOM). Having completed a two-year teacher-training program with Dr. Liu Dong and Master Liu He at the Ling Gui International Healing Qigong School in Seattle, Washington, she is also a Certified Healing Qigong Instructor, integrating Oriental Medical theory with practical instruction in several forms of qigong and meditation. Brodie continues to deepen her knowledge of Classical Chinese Medicine by studying with Jeffrey Yuen, an 88th-generation Daoist master and renowned expert in the field. Her particular areas of interest include the use of the Divergent Meridians, Extraordinary Vessels, and Luo Vessels for psycho- spiritual healing and the treatment of chronic conditions.
Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, Brodie trained in massage therapy at the East West College of Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon. She practiced as a Licensed Massage Therapist with a focus on chronic pain relief through deep tissue work, myofascial therapy, craniosacral unwinding, and shiatsu. Her adept palpation skills and sensitivity to the body-mind inform both her practice and instruction of Oriental Medicine. Brodie shares her passion for Oriental Medicine teaching public workshops on such topics as qigong, stress management, psycho-emotional health, diet, and women's health from an Oriental Medicine perspective.
