Dr. James T. Ventresca Dr. Jim is a Full Professor for AcuPractice Seminars. A dynamic and engaging teacher, Jim has been teaching Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine since 1989

A 1984 graduate and past faculty member of the New England School of Acupuncture, Dr. Ventresca, earned his Master of Science Degree in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College. He was in the first group of board certified Diplomates of Acupuncture in the US, among the first acupuncturists licensed in the state of Massachusetts, and has held licensure as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine in New Mexico since 1994.

In addition to practicing in busy clinical settings and teaching Oriental medicine for over 25 years, Jim was the Academic Dean for Southwest Acupuncture College, and a Site Visit Team Leader for the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He held the position of Medical Director for Integrative Medicine, at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Albuquerque, is a co-founder of a publicly funded AIDS treatment center, and worked with the criminal justice system to establish an acupuncture-based drug treatment center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Dr. Ventresca also served for four years as an Instructor for the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture.
